Hi guys! :wave: I have no news or announcements for this week. We also didn't have any participants in the last theme, so I'm just going to move onto the next one. "Uncertainty" Many things in life are shrouded with uncertainty. There are numerous sides to this not-so-fun state of being, both good and bad. With countless paths and choices, along with the idea that you can make your own destiny, there can be tons of room for doubt to trickle in as you go about your daily life. Whether it's a situation gone sour, something unexpected within your close circles, a rough financial situation, or a letter that came in the mail, simply not knowing what's ahead can keep you up at night. Just the very thought or mention of whatever is eating at you can make you anxious, scared, fearful, etc. On the other hand, some people like the idea of unpredictability. Hello all! :wave: I'm posting the journal a little early this week. School has started back up for me so I'm finding myself a bit crammed for time as I'm approaching my first exam. However, if we get any submissions later on today for last week's theme of "Birthday" I'll be sure to include it! So for the time being, here's the next theme: "Maverick" People who are described as a "maverick" don't stick to the status quo. They're not fans of rules and take great pleasure in marching to the beat of their own drum. They also take those risks others are too scared of. A quick google search will tell you that "maverick" is "an unorthodox or independent-minded person". You could also call them a free spirit or trendsetter. Now, this can be taken in either a positive or negative connotation. Be the "bad boy", or be that person who shakes things up to achieve, or help achieve, the impossible. We had one participant for the last theme of "Drama": by: Thank you for your participation! And now, here is the next theme: "Birthday" It's something that everyone has, and everyone celebrates their birthday in different ways. For some, the word "birthday" may as well be a synonym for party. Everyone the "birthday kid" knows, close or not, will gather for a night of dancing, laughs, and good food and refreshments to celebrate. There may be a colorful cake with that delicious whipped icing topped with sprinkles and funfetti. There's music and games, and the festivities can lead well into the early morning hours. Time certainly does fly when you're having fun. Maybe there's presents involved. If so, what do you usually hope to get?
